Saw them play August, 1996 in Huntsville, Alabama at a small town jam. Were known as the ex-Uncle Tupelo band. Probably about 25 people were there, ignoring Travis Tritt and a pianist/bizarro act called Jason D Williams nearby. Little did we know then that in a month the legendary Being There would be released.
I feel blessed to have seen the Wilco line up live that included Jay twice in 1999. The Summerteeth tour. It was wild. And wonderful as all their shows have been. RIP Jay. Love Wilco always.
Wilco has always been a great band and continue to be, despite a slightly different sound with more technical and polished musicians in their current line-up. While I prefer their older, more country/roots-rock stuff, I saw them live last year and I was blown away by their incredible performance. Jeff Tweedy is a God

Ted Cruz on bass lol??? JK love Wilco n Uncle Tupelo

Wilco takes credit for this?? Jay Farrar is a huge part of Uncle Tupelo, and Tweedy can fuck off.

This is great. I do agree that Nels tends to lose sight of the subtley of many of the earlier songs...
