DC always had a great way of selecting the right guys for the overall great of the band. Whilst I was gutted to hear Doug had left a few years back, I was absolutely blown away impressed once again with the arrival of Joel Hoekstra.. Perfect choice indeed.
Sorry, was a huge Deep Purple, Rainbow and (especially) Whitesnake fan in the 70s / 80s. This does no favours to any of them, none of them were some kind of heavy guitar / thrash metal bands - they were melodic and told a tale. Went to see Thunder / Whitesnake / Journey in Manchester a few years ago - never got the chance to see Journey as David Coverdale relied so much on the thrash guitarists leading the show that every song was a disappointment. We left long before the Whitesnake set finished and this video probably explains why :(
