my midnight confessions are not my only confessions, i confess that i love my hopeful girlfriend every day and night , she makes me right. i pray she and me can be together again. i miss her and love her every single day and night!
Songs like this with the layers of organ, horns, and backing vocals that "phase" in really do sound better in their original mono, thanks for posting this in such clear, perfect MONO sound!
I also have a US-issue copy of this single, and I also have a US-issue copy of Bella Linda by The Grass Roots, the latter being one of their better songs.
This is the hot mono mix that you heard on your AM transistor radio when it first came out in the late summer of 1968. "Midnight Confessions" by the Grass Roots was written by Lou Josie and was first issued on the ABC Dunhill label. The mono version of this recording plus other mono master recordings were trashed so ABC would save storage space. The stereo version of this recording was later reissued by MCA Records.
