Good write up. I agree 100%. It was the high-water mark. I was interested in the Santana album Caravanserai. This is classified as "Jazz fusion". When it was released in 1972, I was wondering if it was influenced by the Miles Davis album "in a Silent Way" in 1969 also Jazz Fusion. And I believe the answer is yes. The early albums of Santana are the best.
when i was 16/17 we (friends) listen to this while a joint was passing damn and when we closed we tripd man how this song builds hisself magnefique! very very beautifulll
