    • Had the man chosen to do so he would have sung opera with the best of em, as it was he decided to sing popera and became its finest exponent.Totally thrilling recording this...who cares if a spotty arm chair critic finds a slightly off note hanging about somewhere....the end result is wonderful. He paints a beautiful picture...who cares where he gets the paint or his canvas from.I love his noise...always will.

    • Mario Lanza does this with such brilliance that I wish this part of the operetta would have been in the movie. Although, he & Kathryn Grayson were wonderful in the part done at the end of That Midnight Kiss. Love this video recording. Thanks for sharing.

    • Thank you Sandra 4 ur kind reply. Of course Jeanette McDonald is not or will never be forgotten, (the perfect couple for Eddie Nelson). She was gracious, beautiful woman and soprano voice, w/great sense of humor. She could amuse us too. Congratulations Sandra for ur good job selecting 4 us all these arias and classical songs w/the voice of our immortal Mario Lanza, and for ur dominion of the Spanish language. My maternal language. Keep the good job please.

    • Beautiful...this quality music will last forever. There are no words to describe the feeling that goes through me ..when Mario starts singing. He may be gone but his music lives on forever. Thank you so much for sharing.

    • Mario Lanza was amazing. He sang with a passion that was incomparable. This performance is an example. He sang as if it was his last time. A wonderful book expresses so much about what Lanza was about: A Kid from Philadelphia, Mario Lanza, the Voice of the Poets. It captures his marvelous talent and is worth reading and listening to Lanza at the same time

    • this kind of singing is what separates our Mario from other tenors, what an incredibl voice and talent. We shall never see the likes again.

    • Megamusiclover; I absolutely applaud your response to Linz51s`intolerant & very nasty comments. Sadly, there is no shortage of "superior" people on YT who are very much of the view that their opinions & judgements are definitive, & cannot express those opinions without without nastiness & abusiveness. For me, Lanza was quite simply the voice of the 20th century. I also have a regard for Eddy, a fine baritone.People like Linz51 need to learn how to offer contrary views without the nastiness.

    • I am going down operetta memory lane.  As a young child and teenager I was addicted to operetta, long before I became a fan of opera. I was fortunate enough to sing in the chorus of 32 operas and operettas in Maryland and Washington, D.C. between 1982 and 1995.  My last one was in the summer of 1995 when I was the bartender in "The Student Prince" with Summer Opera Theatre Company of Washington, D.C.  Only fitting that I should end my opera chorus career with one of the great operettas ever written. I loved every minute of being and  singing on stage with great, great singers.
