If you interpret this the right way it can be about derealization/depersonalization, the song says things like “nothing’s wrong but nothing’s true” “I live in a hologram” and “make believe it’s hyper real” and when you’re disassociated it feels like the world is fake and you will never go back to it.. also you disassociate because of trauma, so there are bad things happening (like explosions on TV),, but your brain separates you from the situation (now we live by the pool) idk I experience derealization and I really relate to this song,,
i thought about the pitiful date of 1945, i thought about the jews and their suffering, for all they had to go through being accused of bloodshed, explosions, losses, souls that will never return to their bodies.
Cuando tengo tiempo para relajarme y para darme cuenta de lo mucho que ha cambiado mi vida desde el 2013 y como ya no soy la misma niña de secundaria, que disfrutaba escuchar Pure Heroine con sus amigos mientras el ciclo escolar se iba entre tareas y clases y muy buenos momentos, me doy cuenta que crecer duele y que canciones como Buzzcut Season me van a traer recuerdos que se sienten como dulces y calientes, literal y que de vez en cuando me gustaría volver a vivir. Pure Heroine siempre va a ser la banda sonora de mi adolescencia, algo que es muy personal como para que el resto lo entienda.
