This is just a great song. I always thought Cindy Walker wrote it. She always gets sole songwriter credit. And there are so many versions out there, Country and op. It’s hard to make a mess of it.
The vibraphone had tubes located under the steel keys struck by mallets, the tubes had a disc that was on a shaft and could spin at variable speeds to create the tremolo sound you here in the background, a beautiful instrument adaptable to most any type music. And the master of smooth, Eddy Arnold at the microphone!
The vibraphone can be clearly be heard in the background, the current two tone doorbell was an off shoot of the instrument, pleasant, not annoying. The "A" Team was behind Eddy Arnold in this recording, all of them in one room at Bradley Studios!

Eddy Arnold had the sense to fire Colonel Tom Parker. I wish Elvis had done that when Elvis came out of the army.
