Originally this song was recorded by Iron Butterfly and written by band member Doug Ingle, released on their 1968 album In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. It was supposed to have been named "In The Garden of Eden," but the singer was drunk and slurring his words and the garbled name stuck.
