Yes he went through awful racial discrimination.. however he had people like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin who would refuse to play venues that that would not allow Nat and other Black entertainers of the day play ..ya Frank the godfather was one of his biggest fans!! Check out his enunciation as he sings.. its perfect! By the way he sang beautifully in Spanish also....doing several albums for his many Latin fans....Lastly, the group backing him up was the Nat King Cole Trio.. i believe the guitarist may have been his brother..but don’t quote me...
